Located off state Route 26 between Pine Grove Mills and Huntingdon, a mere 28 miles from State College, and bordered by a meandering creek, Sunset Golf Club is one of the best-kept secrets in central Pennsylvania.
The 18-hole course at the Sunset Golf Club facility features 6,593 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 70. The course rating is 72.0 and has a slope rating of 126. Designed by Geoffrey S. Cornish, ASGCA, the Sunset Golf Club opened in 1973 under the name Standing Stone Golf Club. In 2019 the course was purchased by David Clark and Patricia Collins and renamed Sunset Golf Club.
The course is 47 years old this season, having opened for play in 1973. The signature hole is hole No.16, a dogleg and a very difficult hole that's a par 4, 405 yards in length, and a par 5, 324 yards from the women's tee.
The amenities featured at Sunset Golf Club include a 18-hole public golf course, a practice putting green, driving range, a fully stocked pro shop and a full dining facility. The pro shop, restrooms, bar, and dining facility were all recently remodeled.
